Fidel Castro reappears in images in a report by Cuban media
The official newspaper Granma and other official Cuban media published on Monday the first photos of Cuban leader Fidel Castro in almost six months, in an attempt to quell rumors about an alleged deterioration of his health.
“Fidel is one of a kind,” is titled the name of the article, which is accompanied by several photos of a meeting between Castro 88, at home with the officialist leader of the Federation of University Students, Randy Garcia Perdomo.
Perdomo was invited by the Cuban leader to visit him at his home last January 23, during the project of the Federation of University Students (FEU) to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the entry of Fidel Castro to the University of Havana.
In twenty pictures Fidel Castro can be seen at different times in his meeting with the young man, wherein he appears seated, nice looking, smiling in many of these images and wearing a blue sports jacket.
Castro, retired from power since 2006, has not appeared at a public event since January 2014 and his last photographs were released last August during a visit made by the president of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro.
