Four arrested for shooting at police headquarters in El Triunfo county
Police arrested four people suspected of links with shootings recorded against the police station of El Triunfo county, in the northeast of the Guayas province.
District Commander of El Triunfo-Bucay, Galo Perez Davila, said that the detainees are investigated for their alleged involvement in the shooting that would have been made “to intimidate the police servers that are giving a tough fight to organized crime.”
According to the official, shots also were directed against the troopers who were parked on the outside of the Community Police Unit. The incident occurred at about 00:40 on Saturday 19 September, 2015.
Through a communique issued by the Police on Sunday, 20 September it was announced that two strangers on a motorcycle fired at the detachment. “Before the assault a tracking and intelligence operation was planned and four people were imprisoned and a minor was isolated as a result.”
The judge in charge who conducted the arraignment hearing ordered the preventive detention for Eduardo J., Jorge C., and Arthur M. In addition, Eduardo J. father of one of the detainees got substitute measures.
