Boanerges Pereira was crowned as the King of Banana in  Ecuador

For the eighth time El Guabo´s producer, Boanerges Pereira, has the title of King of Bananas.

On this occasion, he won the first three places in this competition that marks the traditional start of the World Banana Fair, which takes place every year in the capital of El Oro province.

The winner exemplary of the first place was a bunch of bananas of 157.5 pounds, 16 hands, 42-48 degrees, from the West Banano farm, of 52 hectares, located in the Bella India sector, in Machala. It scored 321.5 points.

The second place was for a bunch from La Primavera farm, of 260 hectares, which scored 316 points for its 160 pounds, 42-48 degrees and 16 hands. While the third place was won by a specimen of the San Antonio farm, in El Porton sector (El Cambio parish, in Machala) with 305 points, 150.5 pounds, 16 hands, and 42-47 degrees.
