Four candidates for Mayor were left out of the sectional elections
The candidate for reelection to the Mayor of Machala, Carlos Falquez (PSC), received five challenges to his candidacy, for this the National Electoral Council (CNE) suspended him, as it did with other mayoral candidates for alleged powers of being dealers of radio and television frequencies.
The CNE rejected the candidacy registration Falquez maintaining that contracts with the State, the radio frequency 890 kHz, which operates radio Superior. The CNE gave a period of 48 hours at PSC candidate to change if the applicant (Falquez) resigns from his application, otherwise it may appeal to the Electoral Tribunal (TCE).
Domingo Paredes, President of the CNE, maintained that the problems are serious challenges filed for violating section 1 of the Constitution.
Other cases are of Jose Naser Bitar, from AP -65, candidate mayor of Bolivar in Manabi (for having frequency Sock TV); Marlon Jose Bonilla, from AP -65, candidate in Puerto Lopez (frequency/ transmission by tevecable TV- PL) and Carlos Alberto Cambala, Frente Lucha Ciudadano, candidate in La Libertad (Costa Radio). The remaining two cases will be this afternoon and are Huaquillas Canton (El Oro) and Manabi.
