Free Internet goes up to an hour and a half of daily use in Guayaquil

To send an “emergency” message via WhatsApp, download files for aprocedure or simply verify social networks, the mayor’s network of Guayaquil isused mostly, which from this weekend will double the connection time, 45minutes, at a half hour.
Mayor Jaime Nebot yesterday said that since December the use of the 90 minutes will be implemented in different points, the capacity of the bands that provide the service will also be expanded, the coverage area is 80 meters.
“It is a benefit for the Guayaquil residents who are in the streets, there will be better connection and more time,” said Nebot.
Gloria Sanchez, tourist agent explained that with the 45 minutes sometimes it was difficult to cover an emergency such as sending information of their work.
“Sometimes the connection is not good, and between connecting and I was not leaving muchof the time. And sometimes there is no where to put a recharge and not all have a plan, I think now it will be a better service, “said Sanchez.
In January 2015, the installation of the six free and wireless internet points(fiber optic connection) began and ended in September of this year.
According to the municipality, the connectivity sites provide coverage to 24 thousand blocks in Guayaquil. The time is not cumulative.
