Full employment in Ecuador grows compared to 2023, says INEC

According to figures from the Institute of Statistics and Censuses (INEC), there are 2,832,153 Ecuadorians who are adequately employed or according to figures from February 2024. This is also corroborated by the National Employment, Unemployment and Underemployment Survey (Enemdu). This figure compared to February 2023 there was a slight increase. Before there were 2,803,265 jobs.
Right there, underemployment decreased. It went from 1,835,936 in February 2023 to 1,773,116 in the same month of 2024. Underemployment is considered to be people who received income below the minimum wage or worked less than the legal day and have the desire and availability to work additional hours. It is the sum of underemployment due to insufficient working time and insufficient income.
Regarding unpaid employment there were 931,088.
In February 2024, in the urban area 72.7% were of working age; 59.3% of the working-age population were economically active and of which, 94.5% were employed.
An average of 35 hours of work per week was recorded for men, while 30 hours per week for women
