FUT plans a mobilization because of labour code

The United Workers Front (FUT for its Spanish Acronym) is planning national mobilizations for July 17, which will be performed by the unions (opposed to the regime), to require the proposals implementation of the draft Labour Code .

On Saturday , about 400 people who are part of the United Workers Front (FUT) and the Popular Front gathered at `Universidad Andina Simón Bolívar´ to outlinestrategies and plan future mobilizations and conventions to discuss the legal project.

Nelson Erazo, President of the Front and member of the General Union of Workers (UGT for its Spanish acronym), said that the project was criticized at the meeting because it would eliminate rights and benefits. Moreover, because it raises the monthly allocation of the thirteenth and fourteenth wages in the public sector.

“The workers have decided to declare in permanent sessions to convene a convention, scheduled for mid- June; that will be preparatory for July 17, when a mobilization at national level will take place to require the Government to collect the proposals we sent in 2012 regarding the draft Labour Code,” said the Erazo.

At the present, the text is debated in the legislative.
