GAD Commission of Alianza País met yesterday
The Committee on Decentralized Autonomous Governments (GAD for its Spanish acronym) of Alianza PAIS (AP) met yesterday to discuss various topics, including boundary disputes.
The President of the committee and Prefect of Cañar, Santiago Correa, said that the meeting was planned before and it did not respond in any way to the meeting between the regional officials.
“I have not understood the reason for the call. I don´t know that. We have not received as GAD, legitimate representatives of GAD, whether we are or not from PAIS, they have not invited us, we do not know what the objectives of the meeting are. They are in their legitimate right to have a meeting”, said the authority.
This commission, he said, meets to coordinate actions of the regional governments of AP to be efficient and create opportunities for training in public bidding, public participation. Besides seeking to improve their management and communications management so the GAD ruling party members become visible and distinguished from the rest because of their participation and efficiency
The issue of boundary disputes added to the agenda for its cojunctural relevance. The Prefect of Cañar on this subject said: “I do not agree on an extension of time, it would just be delaying a responsibility that historically we have faced now and we are willing to do that”, said the authority.
