Glas says he knows nothing of the commissions paid by Topic to his uncle

Vice President Jorge Glas spoke on the statements of Tomislav Topic, president and shareholder of Telconet, a former contractor of the Ecuadorian State and Odebrecht, and the $5 million commissions payment he would have made to Ricardo Rivera.

“I understand he has made statements about some private business that I ignore. It is essential that the Attorney General’s Office investigates and determines what has happened in this case. I have no knowledge regarding Topic and Ricardo Rivera (his uncle), that’s what the investigations are for,” said Glas.

The businessman acknowledged that he made millionaire payments to Rivera for serving as a nexus to close deals. “Mr. Ricardo Rivera asked us as a commission for having put us in contact with these investors, which we agreed to and we have paid him an amount of 5 million 700 thousand dollars from 2009 until 2017,” said Topic.
