Local tourism gets a good boost

Ecuadornews:
A good sip of momentum, the rum cellar La Cava de San Miguel offers guided visits to tourist groups.
What is most impressive are the massive oak barrels that still after 50 years, are used for the aging of the tafia, the liquor obtained from the sugar cane.
The large barrels, which store up to 5,000 liters, are surprising. And each of the small ones contains up to 240 liters, “enough to drink a bottle of rum every day for 120 days,” says guide Claudio Patiño Ledesma to the visitors that day, including journalists from Ecuador, Venezuela, Argentina and France, invited by the Municipal Tourism Foundation of Cuenca, as part of an incentive plan for ‘experiential visits’ and new experiences for tourism.
