Government reiterates that will not abide the IACHR precautionary measures
Foreign Minister Ricardo Patiño and Legal Secretary of the Presidency, Alexis Mera, reiterated yesterday that the precautionary measures issued by the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) in favor of the legislator Cléver Jiménez (PK), Fernando Villavicencio his advisor and activist Carlos Figueroa, will not be serviced.
Both argued that the agency is “politicized” and has an intention to discredit the ecuadorian regime.
“… We saw this after (…). From there publically announced that we can not recognize it attributions they don’t have according to the Convention (National Human Rights) neither in status, “he said.
Patiño justified that the State acknowledged that competition until 2011 because at that time not “warned” that the Commission does not possess.
For his part, the former president of the Commission, Hernan Salgado, believed to be a “flagrant contradiction” the way in which the government has decided to respond to requests from the Commission.
