Homicides decreased by 25% in the first four months of the year

Homicides in Ecuador have dropped by 25% in the first four months of this year compared to 2014, President Rafael Correa said. The Security Council held last week reviewed the crime rate, and a reduction of 25% was found in the homicide rate.
1,303 crimes were recorded in 2014, but only that year there were 608 cases from January to May. From January to May 2015 the total of violent deaths was 457, divided into 291 murders, 119 murders and 33 femicides.
