Hotel offer will grow in Guayaquil

Guayaquil currently has about 2,200 hotel rooms and it is estimated that within a year and a half the offer will reach 4,500 rooms, according to the Provincial Federation of Chambers of Tourism (FENACAPTUR).
According to the latest economic census of the INEC, only in the province of Guayas there are 11.549 lodging establishments and restaurants, and most are located in Guayaquil.
Apparently offer exceeds demand in the city since the INEC also calculated that only 8% of Ecuadorians who practice domestic tourism in the country choose Guayaquil as their destination: this represents about 440 thousand people annually.

Hotels rate is another factor. A luxury hotel charges between $ 65 and $ 100 plus taxes per night; the most economical ranges from $ 11 US dollars per night. These are prices for high season, ie vacations or festivities.
The FENACPTUR proposes more promotion and better events organization of civic dates such as the Foundation or the Independence.
