Humpback whales can be seen from Puerto Lopez to Pedernales. The municipality, together with private entrepreneurs, has traced a route that will have two points of embarkation, one in the floating dock located in the city boardwalk and the second in the artisanal fishing harbor located in San Mateo, in the southwest of Manta, said the mayor of the canton Jorge Zambrano.

The cost of the whale watching tour is $ 25; this price includes a walk along the coastal line of Manta, swimming with life jackets and a snack. The whole journey lasts 120 minutes.

The Spondylusmora Travel operator has a boat for up to 15 people for sightings. In that ship two weeks ago the tours started.

The tour starts on land. Tourists are transported from the urban area of Manta at the height of the scenic boardwalk to the seaside enclave of San Mateo.
