Humpback Whales Are Visiting The Ecuadorian Coasts

Posted On 18 Jun 2011

Hundreds of tourists have moved to the coast of the peninsula because of the beginning of the humpback whales season, which began on Thursday.

Humpback whales come from the cold waters of the South Pole to breed and mate in the warm waters of the national coast.

In Salinas, humpbacks have also become a tourist attraction for 10 years, it is the main available magnet to this resort during the summer season, characterized by a temperate and even cold climate, so the tour operators of this peninsular county prepare their boats in advance to have them in top condition before the start of the official opening of the sighting.

In Puerto Lopez

About 30 thousand visitors are expected to come to Puerto Lopez, the main departure point for whale watching. This beach has prepared various events to welcome tourists and humpback whales and has prepared an extensive agenda for the 13th Whale Watching Science Festival.
