IDB increased credit to Ecuador

After a meeting with President Lenin Moreno, representatives of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) announced that the agency will increase by $ 100 million the line of credit destined for Ecuador, which currently stands at $ 500 million.
After the meeting, Rafael de la Cruz, manager of the Department of Countries of Andean Groups, said that the reason for the meeting was to make known the willingness of this body to support the development projects promoted by the Government, mainly those that promote diversity and gender equality.
The Minister of Industries and Productivity, Eva García, said that this decision of the IDB is a sign of the appreciation that international organizations have for the Government’s policy. The official, after inaugurating yesterday the Women Entrepreneurs Fair 2018, said that the decision of the destination of these funds will be the Government after the evaluation of projects of the State portfolios.
“This is a sign of confidence; there is a positive message from international organizations such as the IDB with whom we have worked on some projects, “the official said. She added that on the side of the Ministry of Industries and Productivity (MIPRO), to access these funds will be presented several projects to support women entrepreneurs, the popular economy and solidarity, as well as the promotion of youth employment, among others.
