IESS declares emergency over shortage of medical supplies

The Main Director of the Ecuadorian Institute of Social Security (IESS for its Spanish acronym), Jose Martinez Dobronsky, by Resolution No.IESS-DG-2014-0031-R, dated June 24, 2014, has declared emergency over the lack of drugs and medical supplies.

Because of that the IESS Directorate will carry out an immediate purchase of needed materials because of the shortage that exists in the different IESS medical units nationwide.

Martinez Dobronsky invited all interested medical suppliers to submit their proformas until Monday July 7, 2014, at 18:00.

Moreover, the entity also indicated that once the emergency situation is solved, the  report detailing the contracts signed and the budget used, will be published in the Public Procurement Website, which should confirm the transparency in the procurement of inputs.
