Immigrants of Spain Face Law Requirements
During the electoral campaign, the opposing party Partido Popular (PP) of Catalonia gave a new step on the critics regarding the irregular immigration. Alicia Sanchez Camacho, candidate of PP for the Government of Catalonia, made a proposition with a contract of coexistence on which immigrants’ compromise to abandon the country if they are without a job, the comment was made by the Madrid newspaper El País.
“Whoever wants to work on Catalonia must compromise to uphold the laws of our country,” added Sanchez. The requisites that the immigrants must fulfill are the respect of values and traditions of Spain; learn the official language of Catalonia, to actively work to integrate in the society and return to their home country if they are unemployed.
