Imported cattle will soon be delivered to breeders
In an interview with Express newspaper, Margoth Hernandez, secretary of Livestock, of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, talks about the process for the sale of imported cattle from Paraguay.
Hernandez says that 1,200 livestock producers are interested in buying and they will have access to a credit from the National Development Bank (BanEcuador). She explains that the government will give a 30% discount so that small livestock producers have good genetics cattle. The price of cattle varies by age and race.
“But for example, a Brangus cow with an average age of 20 to 26 months costs $ 2,853. To this amount we have to reduce a 30%, then the final price is $ 1,997, to be paid in six years, with two years of grace. For bulls the grace period is one year and the debt is canceled in four years. The interest rate is 10%.”
