OAS makes a call for dialogue in Ecuador
Posted On 04 Jul 2015
The secretary general of the regional body, Luis Almagro, made last Thursday from his Twitter account a call for dialogue between the Ecuadorian government and the opposition in the framework of the visit of Pope Francis to country. Sectors opposed to President Correaá regime have agreed a hiatus from 5 to 8 July, during the visit of Francis.
“We will maintain the highest level of cordiality in the dialogue, but we will not cede the streets to the right and the violent people,” said for his part Foreign Minister Ricardo Patiño during a cabinet of ministers held at the Carondelet Palace.
