Induction cookers pots will be ready in late August
The new pots for induction cookers are not yet produced in Ecuador. Of the seven qualified companies for making the cookware, only Electrococ and Indalro will start with the production after August 20 and the last week of the month.
The other companies and a associations are: Umco, Indalum, Coutensil, Fundirecilar and Metal Smelters Association of Ecuador, which will begin to produce the new pots between September and January 2015.
The new induction cookers, that will replace gas cookers in the program promoted by the Government, require special pots of ferromagnetic metals. This is because the kitchens use an electromagnetic field to cook food and require special pots.
These containers must be made of materials such as steel, iron or aluminum, as long as the cookware has a steel base.
