Induction cookers would cost between $ 300 and $ 400 dollars
Three national companies seeking to be qualified as manufacturers of induction cookers in Ecuador, announced yesterday that these artifacts with four burners will cost between $ 300 and $ 400 dollars.
The Government seeks to replace since next August 3.5 million of gas cookers by induction electric stoves of high efficiency to reduce the gas subsidy and to take advantage the new energy that will produce hydroelectric plants from 2016.
For the gas stoves replacement program, the Ministry of Industries opened two competitions since last April. The first one for white line companies that will assemble induction cookers and the second, for companies that manufacture pots and pans required by these special kitchens that use an electromagnetic field for heating food.
Yesterday, in the laboratory of the Umco company, the representatives from eight of the 12 companies interested in assemblinginduction cookers presented their prototypes to verify the proper functioning of the pots and pans that were submitted byother nine national firms seeking to manufacture containers.
