International Association of Exorcists is legally recognized by the Vatican
The Vatican legally recognized the International Association of Exorcists (IEA), founded by Gabriele Amorth, according to L’Osservatore Romano, the official newspaper of the Holy See.
Last June 13, the IEA statutes were approved granting legal personality of international association to the faithful of the Church based on Article 322.1 of the Canon Law Code.
Francesco Bamonte, President of the association since 2012, told the Vatican newspaper that the approval of the EIA by the Holy See is “a cause for joy, not only for members but also for the whole Church.”
“God call some priests to exercise this precious ministry of exorcism and deliverance to serve with humility, faith and love to these people that require specific pastoral and spiritual care”, he concluded.
Currently, the IEA has about 250 exorcists present in about thirty countries.
