Internet Video May Affect The Image Of The U.S. Marines

Posted On 12 Jan 2012
Four U.S. Marines would be the stars of a controversial 40-second video that went viral on the web in recent days.

The images show the soldiers urinating on the bloody corpses of Taliban members.

“We are deeply concerned about the video”, if it is real it is “an outrageous and unacceptable behavior for a member of the armed forces,” said Pentagon spokesman Cpt. John Kirby. “The actions shown are not consistent with our core values (…) This matter will be thoroughly investigated,” said U.S. Marine Corps.

If the veracity of the video is confirmed, the scandal would be another one in the long list of events that has affected the image of the U.S. military.
