Julio Ortiz: “Ecuador is failing to establish good foreign policies”
Due to the recent visit to the Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to Ecuador, many reactions have occurred. Julio Ortiz, a political analyst shared his point of view regarding the link between Ecuador-Iran.
– International Relations Strategy
“If there isn’t a strategy of foreign policies, anything can be done, its an spontaneous expression related to the project lead by Hugo Chavez which is not being well received by the public international opinion.”
“The Ecuadorian Government is failing in his work to establish good foreign policies due to a series of attitudes that work against the improvement of International relations.”
– Venezuela/ Ecuador/ Iran
Such decisions can affect the international market and commerce. Ecuador is facing a superficial speech regarding the American Imperialism as the responsible for injustice and conflicts that affect the world. Other countries see the association between Iran and Venezuela regarding the nuclear project as an attempt against world peace.
– Ecuador and the International Market
Internationally the decision to support and make alliances with Iran could harm the Ecuadorian markets. Ecuador is in a position were it needs to have several markets to import and export their products since United States and the European Union have established that any country that deals with the central bank of Iran could loose its participation in the tariff preferences.
“Iran is not a role model of democracy. Iran leads an authoritarian government with a system surpassed by the world civilization. The argument of the Ecuadorian president Rafael Correa to support Iran is weak since the Middle Eastern country is not to be admired.” Concluded Ortiz. (AV)
