Israel Remembered the Jewish Holocaust
Posted On 19 Apr 2012
Yesterday Israel paid tribute to the 6 million Jews who died in the Holocaust. A series of solemn events in Israel marked the Day of Remembrance.
The President Shimon Perez and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu attended a ceremony held at the Holocaust Museum in Israel.
The ceremony included the lighting of torches by six Holocaust survivors, representing a million murdered Jews.
“The Jewish people still face threats to their extinction more than 80 years after Adolf Hitler killed six million Jews in Europe,” said Netanyahu in a speech at Yad Vashem Museum. (PLS)
