Jimenez receives support from committees and left-wing groups
The Committee of Relatives of Politically Persecuted in Ecuador announced the presentation of new legal actions and claims before the Interamerican Commission on Human Rights (IACHR).
This, in relation to the case of the legislator Cléver Jiménez (PK), Fernando Villavicencio, his advisor, and activist Carlos Figueroa, who face a judgment for libel against President Rafael Correa.
The so-called “10 Luluncoto” convicted of terrorism; and so-called “7 from Cotopaxi”, sentenced to prison for the taking of public institutions in the revolt of September 30, 2010, form the guild defense.
Politics and social organizations of the Left Unity are joining them.
In order to define the defense strategy of those who are considered persecuted, the spokespersons of organizations did not discard to attend the protests, as mobilizations and sit-ins to demand `respect´ for their rights.
