New York Judge Thomas Griesa, rejected the possibility of a precautionary measure in the case of hedge funds against Argentina and asked both parties to intensify negotiations to avoid a cessation of payments.
Griesa rejected the precautionary measure requested by the Government of Argentina to maintain braked a judgment in favor of plaintiffs investment funds, in order to implement their commitments due to debt holders who did accept the restructuring.
The judge said he rejected the injunction because it was against the rights of the plaintiffs. Furthermore, he asked Argentina to recognize its obligations and avoid a debt default.
