Kabul Militants Attack U.S. Embassy
During the Tuesday afternoon several militants made a coordinated attack against the U.S. embassy and NATO headquarters in Kabul. The strike was made with firing rockets and assault rifles. The U.S. embassy informed that there are some casualties and wounded in the Police ranks, one Afghan journalist was shot in the leg. However they did not gave a specific number.
The strike force attacked from a tall building that is under construction, this location gave them a complete view of the U.S. compound. The insurgents also targeted the district of Wazir Akbar Khan, where several other embassies and NGOs are located.
Afterwards troops from NATO in the country joined the combat. The attacks resemble the Fedayeen coordinated by insurgent commandos, tactics that are commonly used in Afghanistan. (AV)
