Kim Novak has Breast Cancer
The Hollywood Reporter informed today that the actress Kim Novak, known for her role in Alfred Hitchcock’s thriller “Vertigo” (1958), has been diagnosed breast cancer.
An initial phase tumor was detected while Novak was having a routine test—at the beginning of 2010—since then, she has been under medical treatment.
“All her doctors say she is in amazing shape and because of this she should recover just fine,” said her agent Sue Cameron.
Throughout her career Novak has participated in films like “Picnic”(1955), which won two Oscar awards, and “The Man with the Golden Arm” (1955), where she shared the big screen with Frank Sinatra.
The 77 year-old actress, made her last film appearance in the movie “Liebestraum” (1991), where her scenes were deleted due to arguments with the director.
At the moment, Novak exercises with her personal trainer three times a week in Oregon, where she lives with her husband Robert Malloy.
