Latin America will face in 2015 one more year of “mediocre growth” in a scenario marked by a dramatic collapse of 7% of GDP in Venezuela and a widespread downward revision in the region, expressed this Wednesday, January 21 the International Monetary Fund.
The IMF said that “the region will grow just 1.3% this year, approximately the same low rate of 2014 and almost one percentage point below (their) previous forecast”.
When reviewing the growth forecasts from seven Latin American countries compared to the expectations of last October, the IMF proceeded to a general reduction in the forecasts. “One more year of mediocre growth” is the title of the document.
