Liga de Quito defeats Independiente del Valle 2-0

This Saturday, Liga de Quito won 2-0 over its rival Independiente del Valle, which led the national championship, ranking second in the table thanks to two goals by Narciso Mina.

The goals occurred in the second half, as players of both teams were injured (Ayala from Independiente and Vera from Liga). The first goal was scored thanks to a flawless header by Mina. The second goal came after minute 53, following a concise pass from the right of Hólger Matamoros, which could not be saved by goalkeeper Azcona.

Liga de Quito is just three goals from reaching the first place in the tournament. Now it will have to face Barcelona on Monday at 19:00, on a deferred duel, while the the second place will be contested by Emelec and Deportivo Cuenca.
