Llapingacho is the second best potato dish in the world

The delicious llapingacho is the second best potato dish in the world, according to the specialized portal Taste Atlas. The information was announced this Monday, November 13, 2023.
This traditional dish originating from Ambato has a variety of ingredients: potato tortillas or in Quichua known as llapin which means crushed; fried egg, sausage or chorizo, avocado, cured onion and tomato, peanut sauce and lettuce.
The llapingacho received a rating of 4.6 ; as well as the dish that came in first place, which is potato cakes, a typical Slovak dish.
The portal highlights the preparation of potatoes with cheese , mixed. In addition, it is indicated that its flavor is highlighted by the accompaniment with peanut sauce; without forgetting the rest of the garnishes already detailed.
Also on the list of dishes with potatoes are Tartiflette and Gratin Dauphinois, from France; Placki ziemniaczane, from Poland; Wrinkled potatoes, from Spain; Triple-Cooked Chips, England; Pommes Anna, from France; Bulviniai blynai, from Lithuania.
The Ministry of Tourism also highlighted the nomination that the Ecuadorian llapingacho achieved in this specialized site.
