Martin Palermo Said Goodbye to Soccer and Boca
The top scorer player in the history of Club Atletico Boca Juniors, Martin Palermo, hung up his boots in his last professional match at the Bombonera face Banfield in the Closing tournament.
The celebration held in the Boca Juniors Club was led by Mario Pergolini. The celebration began with a version of the national anthem played by Ciro Martínez, then several videos in tribute to the striker were shown. The most emotional moment of the night was when the children of the SOS Child Foundation, sponsored by Palermo, gave him a super hero layer with a Super Martin legend.
The celebration ended with an unexpected gift that the club made him: an arc of the soccer field with his name engraved on it.
In his acceptance speech, Palermo said with gratitude to his colleagues, leaders, family, and friends, but in particular to the Boca fans to which he thanked their affection and said as a goodbye: “I will always keep you in my heart.”
