Mayor Rodas announces he will not pay fine imposed by the Supercom
The Mayor of Quito, Mauricio Rodas, announced on December 29 he will not pay the fine of $ 3,400 imposed by the Superintendency of Information and Communication (Supercom), arguing that as the highest representative of the Municipality of Quito, he was responsible for a case of prior censorship.
Through his Twitter account, on city official wrote: “The resolution of the SuperCom is illegal, illegitimate and absurd, so I will not submit to the fine and I welcome the right to resistance.”
According to the resolution of the Supercom, at the hearing, the defense of the Municipality “acknowledged the alleged administrative error that suspended the transmission of a talk show of the news website Ecuadorinmediatoin municipal radio stations Distrito 102.9 FM and Municipal 720 AM.
