Media will report before the Participation Council
Using an “exclusive guide” prepared by the Council of Citizen Participation and Social Control (CPC), the media will report their annual activities. “In the coming months we will make an exclusive guide for the media,” said Fernando Cedeño, chairman of the CPC.
Under Article 88 of the Law of Citizen Participation, accountability is the obligation of public or private institutions providing public services, managing public resources and engaging in activities of public interest, like the media.
The guide would request general data such as: address, legal representative and implementation of public policies with equality focus in areas such as multiculturalism, generationality, disability, gender and human mobility.
Currently there are about 5,000 public and private institutions obligated to account to the Council.
