Messi joins Unicef for children

The campaign begins with the phrase “in November I received the best present ever: the birth of Thiago (his son),” that the Argentinean striker from the FC Barcelona, Lionel Messi, pronounced in the video made and released by UNICEF (United Nations Children’s Fund), as part of a new campaign for the children.

The video talks about the South American soccer player: “To see his child growing up has compromised him even more to work for all the boys and girls of the world, for them to grow with the same opportunities.”

In addition to showing a picture kissing her son, born in November 2012, Messi, aka “the Flea,” tells people to participate in this campaign, which seeks that children have access to adequate nutrition, vaccination against diseases, water and a quality education.”

“Help me so all the boys have equal opportunities to live, grow and develop,”Messi urges.

The campaign website announces that participating in the initiative is the “chance to win a pair of shoes or an autographed jersey from Messi.”

Furthermore, the proposal is broadcast on Twitter  with the hashtag #messithiago.
