Militaries of U.S. May Disclose Their Homosexuality
Posted On 22 Dec 2010
U.S. President, Barack Obama, today ended a law that obligated to gay and lesbian soldiers to hide their sexual orientation under the threat of being expelled from the Armed Forces.
The U.S. Senate on Saturday ended a controversial law called “Don’t ask, don’t tell”, which did not allow the freedom of gender – With this law 14,000 soldiers were dismissed-. Its repeal was one of Obama’s main campaign promises.
To prepare the integration of homosexuals into the ranks of soldiers, the Pentagon has planned, according to a report released in late November, to tweak the military code. Also, Obama must certify in a document that the new rules will not affect the preparation of the Armed Forces recruits.
