Ministry of Environment declares 180 days of emergency in Galapagos

Maritime transportation systems of charge (to and from the Galapagos Province) and of fuel supply to the island territory are from yesterday in emergency.
The ministerial agreement No. 001, signed by the Ministers of Environment, Lorena Tapia; of Transport and Public Works, Paola Carvajal and Non-Renewable Natural Resources, Pedro Merizalde, determines that this measure will last for 180 days.
Meanwhile, the Armed Forces continue their assistance plan in the charge transportation to the islands. Yesterday 20 tons (t) of charge arrived to San Cristobal, and on Tuesday 20 t were mobilized to Santa Cruz and 5 t to Isabela.
In the ship ‘Floreana’, which ran aground last January 28, at least 500 tons of perishable products expired.
