Mother’s Day Increases Sales of Ecuadorian Businesses

Merchants on mother's day go to the streets

The downtown of Guayaquil, Ecuador; and several of its malls had an unusual increase of commercial activity due to the husbands and sons that went to look for gifts for their respective mothers and wife’s.

Store owners in Guayaquil opened their doors after 09:00 (GMT) by 10:00 they were already selling their merchandise.  Dozens of customers attended the flower market in the Machala avenue, among other stores.

In some streets merchants sold balloons and cards with logos that read “happy mother’s day,” social networks were also filled with words and phrases. On Twitter the hashtag #Happymothersday was trending. (AV)
