Mujica slows Marijuana Legalization project
Posted On 19 Dec 2012
After his own initiative of Uruguayan President Jose Mujica, of legalizing the sale of marijuana in order to reduce excessive drug violence, today recognized having “slowed” the initiative, on the grounds that society “is not ready.”
Mujica’s idea changing came after the massive survey on the legalization project, which stated that 64% of Uruguayans were against such initiative.
Thus, the president said that he will deepen public debate on the matter until the Uruguayan people “understands that we are at war” and continue lending interest in thinking of better solutions to those raised in my government.”
