NASA Discovers New Alien Planets
Posted On 20 Dec 2011
NASA unveiled their latest discoveries while searching for planets beyond our solar system. The new alien planet announcement is based on findings made by NASA’s Kepler planet-hunting spacecraft, an observatory that was launched in March 2009, since then it has been orbiting Earth searching.
So far the Kepler mission already found 2,326 potential planets during its first 16 months of work, it has been confirmed that 28 are definite planets.
Between Kepler and other ground- and space-based planet searches, scientists have found more than 700 confirmed alien planets. However, they are still looking for a truly Earth-like world, with similar size and temperature to host life. (AV)
