Nathalie Cely says she’s not related with Duzac’s case
Last Tuesday the Assemblywoman and Maria Paula Romo and Betty Amores presented emails to the Attorney General, since it links government officials with Gaston Duzac, but this does not seem to worry the suspects. Meanwhile the ambassador of Ecuador in the United States, Nathalie Cely, is not afraid of the investigation results.
The ambassador told newspaper Expreso that she is happy about the investigation, particularly as it relates to the credit of USD 800,000 that the bank COFIEC gave to the Argentinean businessman Gaston Duzac. According to Cely the investigation led by the prosecutor Galo Chiriboga will confirm that there is no relationship between her and the case.
According to those emails, the ambassador held talks with Pedro Elosegui, friend of President Rafael Correa. Besides Cely it also mentions Stanley Vera, Santiago Leon and Pedro Delgado. So far none of them has given his side of the case, even though Romo received the information from the account verdadcofiec@gmail.com, the emails state that the officials met with Duzac years before COFIEC gave him the loan.
