The film that tells the life of Neisi Dajomes, Olympic medalist from Ecuador, wins the award for Best Documentary in Latin America.

The documentary ‘Neisi: The Force of a Dream’ was awarded at the Spanish and Latin American Film Festival, which is being held this week in Italy.
In 90 minutes, the Ecuadorian production summarizes eight years of following Neisi Dajomes , the first Ecuadorian woman to win an Olympic gold medal. Her feat occurred at the Tokyo Olympic Games, in Weightlifting.
The producer of the documentary, Irina López, shared with PRIMICIAS the news of a new recognition for this cinematographic story: Award for Best Documentary Feature Film in Latin America.
He received the IILA-Cinema award, intended for Latin American filmmakers under 40 years of age.
It was delivered in Rome, Italy, where the Spanish and Latin American Film Festival is held.
Furthermore, López shares with great joy that the documentary will be screened this Thursday, May 16 in Rome and on Sunday, May 19 in Genoa.
Neisi’s process, marked by the pain of losing family members and his unwavering discipline, has already been presented at festivals in different countries and in commercial cinemas in Ecuador.
However, the screening of the documentary in more countries fills its filmmakers with joy.
