Posted On 14 Jul 2014
This Monday, Israel continued for the seventh consecutive day its siege in Gaza during the so-called operation “Protective Edge,” which so far has killed more than 150 Palestinians, mostly civilians, and has left over a 1,000 injured.
Furthermore, in an effort to stop the bombing, the Arab League made a request to the international community to take measures to protect the inhabitants of the Gaza Strip, where 1.2 million people live.
Also the Security Council of the UN has called on Hamas and Israel for a ceasefire and to “respect international humanitarian law, especially on the protection of civilians.”
Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says his country will continue and even intensify the offensive.
