New York Fashion Week will present seven Ecuadorian brands

Posted On 02 Sep 2019

In September 2019, Ecuador will have the largest representation, to date, in New York Fashion Week.

At least seven brands will present their products in this scenario. In addition, an agency will place its models in several parades.

From September 6 to 11, 2019 the official New York Fashion Week calendar will be developed, in which the collections for spring-summer 2020 will be shown.

One of the first Ecuadorians to confirm their participation was Fernanda Salgado, with her brand Lula Kirei, on the Fashion Designers of Latin America platform.

In this space, they will show their creations designers such as Agatha Ruiz de la Prada. Salgado will present his Alada collection, the night of September 10. On September 9 he will defend his collection before panelists and the press, and on 11 he will sell his products in the Bliss NYC store.

Ecuadorian designer Glenkora Comte was invited to exhibit her ‘slow fashion’, a movement that advocates an industry that respects the environment and workers, at The Society Fashion Week. It is a platform that performs fashion shows and commercial events in London, New York, Paris, and Los Angeles.

Comte, based in Washington, invited the brand of handmade accessories Wallqa, by businesswoman Nathalie Cely. The designers of jewels Andrea Tello, who specializes in filigree, and Ximena Torres, who made jewelry with metals, precious stones and tagua, joined Wallqa. Both made exclusive collections for Wallqa.

The conjugation of Comte’s fashion and the jewels of Wallqa will be shown on September 7.
