Nine IESS hospitals present lack of medicines

Emergencia-Hospital-IESS-Maldonado-Guayaquil_ECMIMA20140317_0030_44Nine hospitals of the Ecuadorian Institute of Social Security (IESS for its Spanish acronym) are among the health units that reported the largest medication needs. This before the purchase process started on May 29 with a referencial budget of $ 47’625 .612.66.

The recruitment process was initiated with the aim to purchase all drugs that are in zero or critical level of supply and also the drugs scheduled by IESS medical units for the second semester.

Funds from these nine medical units ($33’478 276.16 in total) represent 70.3% of the reference budget for that purchase.

The health centers are located in Guayaquil, among them `Teodoro Maldonado Carbo´, Quito, Cuenca, Porto Viejo, Loja, Milagro, Durán and Machala.
