Posted On 10 Jun 2014
During the reopening of the second debate of the draft Water Law, Assemblyman Raul Patiño of Alianza PAÍS movement (AP) suggested the creation of a Superintendence of Public Services.
His proposal was made after he noted that the water company Interagua suspends the service “whenever they want”, they do not change the obsolete pipes nor the gauges and they waste large amounts of water annually, according to a report by the Comptroller.
In this regard, the Vice President of the Commission on Food Sovereignty Mauricio Proaño indicated thatan institutionality is being created within the law, which comprises the Single Water Authority in charge of the steering.
