Non-convited prisoners start the elections day
Persons deprived of liberty (PPL), without judgment , and the adolescent offenders of the 54 social rehabilitation centres may exercise their right this Friday 21st, according to the Ministry of Justice, which coordinates the process with the National Electoral Council (CNE).
57 boards receiving the vote (JRV) will be installed from 09:00, and each shall be composed of two PPL and one CNE official. The election day operations would be extended until 13:00 (while this Sunday elections will be from 07:00 to 17:00).
The inmates of the country will only vote for Prefect and Vice-Prefect, Mayor and Urban Councilors. The other two dignities which will be chosen on Sunday will be Vocal and rural Councilors of the rural parish boards.
For safety, prisoners must mark their choice with a crayon and not with a pen.
Finally, at the end of the process, the members of the JRV will not count the votes, they shall send the material to the delegation. The scrutiny of these proceedings will start at 17:00 on Sunday.
