Now You Can Turn on Your Washing Machine from Your Office
This week at the Electronic Product Show (CES) in Las Vegas, the most representative brands in the technology market presented the very innovative products, from tablets to smart home appliances.
LG Electronics presented its new household product line, called “Thing”, which allows the electronic devices to connect to a home Wireless Network controlled from computers or phones. Among the latest models of the Korean brand, there are appliances such as washing machines that can be activated from the users office at the time they want, that way, it allows the possibility to decide the hours that consume less electricity and save a couple of bucks. In addition, LG offers a robot vacuum, “Hom-Bot”, which comes with a camera that can be activated to clean the floor. The camera can also be used with refrigerators with built in LCD screen, and it tells users where food is and its expiration date, so if users are in the supermarket, they can check from their phone if still have milk or if they ran out of cereal.
General Electric debuted in Las Vegas to present its solutions for homes, it included “Nucleus”, a system that provides information on electricity consumption.
Nucleus will be available this year and has applications and programs with programmable thermostats that will monitor the consumption and reduce monthly electric bill.
